How to use multi channel pipette?

A complete pipetting cycle
Including Pipette Tips installation - volume setting - pre-wash tip - suction - discharge - unloading

Pipette tips installation: The correct installation method is called rotary installation. The specific method is to insert the top of the white sleeve into the tip (whether it is a bulk tip or a boxed tip), and while pressing down gently, Rotate the pipette in the handle 180 degrees counterclockwise. Remember not to use too much force, let alone chop the tip to install, because doing so will cause unnecessary damage to the pipette in your hand.

Boxed suction nozzle: Insert the Multi Channel Pipette vertically into the suction nozzle, press down slightly, use the power of the wrist to rotate left and right, and install the suction nozzle tightly.Bag suction nozzle: Hold the pipette and suction nozzle with both hands, and rotate and tighten after installation.

Pre-wash tip: After we install a new pipette tip or increase the capacity value, the liquid to be transferred should be sucked and discharged two to three times. This is to form a homogeneous liquid film on the inner wall of the tip to ensure The precision and accuracy of pipetting work make the entire pipetting process extremely reproducible. Secondly, when absorbing organic solvents or highly volatile liquids, volatile gases will form negative pressure in the white sleeve chamber, resulting in liquid leakage. At this time, we need to pre-wash four to six times to let the air in the white sleeve chamber. When the gas is saturated, the negative pressure will disappear automatically. In this way, a homogeneous liquid film can be formed on the inner wall of the suction nozzle, which ensures the precision and accuracy of the pipetting work, and makes the pipetting process extremely reproducible.

Liquid suction: first press the pipette discharge button to the first stop point, and then immerse the tip vertically into the liquid surface. The depth of immersion is: P2, P10 is less than or equal to 1 mm, P20, P100, P200 is less than or equal to 2 mm , P1000 is less than or equal to 3 mm, P5ML, P10ML is less than or equal to 4 mm (if the immersion is too deep, the hydraulic pressure will have a certain impact on the accuracy of the suction, of course, the specific immersion depth should also be based on the size of the container holding the liquid Flexible control), release the button smoothly, and remember not to be too fast. Different models of pipettes have different immersion depths and waiting times.

Discharging: When discharging, the suction head is close to the container wall, first press the discharge button to the first stop point, and after a short pause, press it to the second stop point, so as to ensure that there is no residual liquid in the suction head. If residual liquid remains after this operation, you should consider replacing the tip.

Remove the tips: The removed tips must not be mixed with new tips to avoid cross-contamination. Two-minute check method: This is a simple way to quickly check the pipette in our hand, by checking, to judge whether the pipette in our hand is in a normal working condition. After use, adjust the capacity of the multi channel pipette to the maximum and hang it vertically on the pipette holder.
