(Single/Multichannel/Adjustable/Fixed) pipettes, no matter which Pipette is one of the routine instruments used in our laboratory. The pipetting accuracy and accuracy of the pipette have a great impact on our experimental results. Today, Yongyue medical is sharing some tips that we don't know when using these (single/multi-channel/adjustable/fixed) pipettes.

First of all, there are two situations to be aware of when using a pipette.

The first situation: let's talk about setting the pipetting volume

1. When we use the normal adjustment method to adjust from large volume to small volume, rotate the scale counterclockwise;

2. Conversely, when we need to adjust from small volume to large volume, we can adjust it clockwise to the scale above the set volume and then back to the set volume. This will ensure the best accuracy.

Case 2: Assembling the pipette tip

1. When assembling a single-channel pipette, insert the pipetting end vertically into the tip, then turn it slightly to the left and right.

Note: The method of using the pipette to repeatedly hit the tip to tighten it is not possible, because this operation will cause the pipette parts to be loose due to strong impact. If the condition is serious, the knob of the adjustment scale will be stuck.

2. When assembling a multi-channel pipette, you need to align the first pipette tip with the first pipette tip, insert it obliquely, and then slightly rock it up and down. The tip is inserted slightly after the O-ring is inserted.

Secondly, in addition to the need to pay attention to the use of pipettes, there are also tips in the usual maintenance work.

1. If the liquid accidentally enters the piston chamber due to improper operation or other reasons, it is necessary to remove the pollutants in time; 
2. When the pipette is used, remember to adjust the pipette range to the maximum value. This will extend the life of the pipette and place the pipette vertically on the pipette holder. 
3. Depending on the frequency of use, all pipettes should be cleaned regularly with soapy water or with 60% isopropanol, then rinsed with double distilled water and allowed to dry; 
4. Avoid placing the pipette at a higher temperature to prevent the pipette from deforming and causing leakage or inaccuracy; 
5, find problems in a timely manner to find professionals to deal with.
